President: Hind Mirza Gautam
My name is Hind M. Gautam, and I and the president of the Leonardo Da Vinci PTO, an organization that I have been a proud member of since 2017.
I have been a Da Vinci parent since 2017, when my daughter Uma joined Da Vinci as a second grader, and my son Iyaan, as a kindergartener. We feel blessed to be part of this institution. My daughter graduated Da Vinci last year and my some is currently in 7th grade.
I am really excited to serve you in my new role. As the president, I will strive to keep the PTO a strong community and a link between parents and teachers. The goal of the PTO is to promote quality education for the students of the school, to promote programs that support and enhance the curriculum, to promote parent teacher communication and to promote and organize activities that will enrich students’ time at the school. An especially important goal is to raise funds and send these funds directly back to the school for various programs and activities. I will work towards achieving these goals and collaborate with other members in maintaining our social media presence, updating the website, and publishing the monthly newsletter as well as taking on any other responsibility that might arise during the term. I enjoy giving my time for the advancement of the school and the children it educates. As an active PTO member, I have been the chair for restaurant fundraising since 2019. Besides being the restaurant fund raiser chair, I have volunteered at various PTO events, helped teachers out in classrooms and chaperoned students during field trips. In 2019, I was the manager for the DI team that won first place at the regionals and qualified for the state where they were placed in the top ten. My children were part of that team while they were merely first and third graders. It was a proud moment when they held up their trophy that now proudly sits in the hallway at the LDV school for gifted learners. Outside school, my children enjoy dancing, singing, karate, swimming, running, tennis, and basketball. They have participated and won accolades in piano playing at the National Federation of Music Club’s annual music festival. They are also avid travelers and have been traveling globally since age one.
Outside the arena of being mom and school parent, I am an Anesthesiologist -Interventional Pain Medicine physician at Advocate health. I am also an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at UW Madison School of Medicine. I completed my internship at Rush University in Chicago, residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Miami, and my fellowship in Pain Medicine at the Harvard University -Longwood Pain Fellowship program in Boston, MA. Upon graduation in Pain Medicine, I worked in Buffalo, NY as a staff Anesthesiologist and Pain Management physician at the Veterans Affairs Hospital. While in buffalo, I was appointed Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University at Buffalo or SUNY Buffalo. There I taught prospective anesthesiologists, the art, and craft of administering anesthesia so that they could go out into the world and ease the pain of patients undergoing surgery. Besides being a physician, I am a registered yoga instructor, a certified yoga therapist and a long-distance runner having completed a full and several half marathons. During COVID, I obtained certification in finance, accounting, investment, entrepreneurship, and negotiations through Harvard Business School’s online programs.
I moved to Wausau, WI in 2007 to join my husband who had moved there in 2002 after his fellowship in Miami. We moved to Green Bay in the fall of 2009 and have called Green Bay home ever since. My daughter was born exactly a year after we moved and my son 2 years later. We are proud to call Green Bay home and are proud Wisconsinites
