Allison Hockers
My name is Allison Hockers and I currently teach Physical Education and Health Education at Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners. Having a passion for children and athletics made my career choice very focused from the beginning of my college career. This position gives me the opportunity to work with all students at the school.
I have taught in the Green Bay Area Public School system for the past 3 plus years with all of them being here at Leonardo da Vinci. Currently in my 4th year I have gained significant knowledge of the intense curriculum based learning required of the students as well as a solid understanding of the operational aspects of being part of this team. For the past 3 years I have chaired the Pi day race, which is managed by a committee of 5th graders with a philanthropic outreach to our community. I also coach our girls basketball team and running club here at school.
I have been married to Kevin Hockers for just over a year now and we just completed our first marathon in September. We also have a 2 year old golden retriever named Kita. We both like to run, bike, and kayak.
I welcome the opportunity to work closely with the PTO acting as a voice for teachers when called upon. I will challenge us all (teachers and parents) to have clear goals and objectives so that we can continue to raise the bar of excellence and strengthen our outputs. I believe that relationships are a key component of education and will work to inspire and build bonds with all.
Each year and every day I look forward to being an important part of the growth and continued development of Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners. Being a representative on the PTO will allow me to grow personally and professionally.
